• Objectives of the event: This event aims to integrate the efforts of natural resource managers, engineers, fire managers, educators/trainers, and scientists. Through an integrated approach, different role-players will be sensitised about each other’s realities, successes, and failures. Opportunities are presented to people from different entities, management levels and parts of South Africa to network and debate and exchange ideas in the realm of integrated fire management.  

Modern Silviculture Symposium

• Frequency of hosting: Every three years 

• Target audience: nursery managers, horticulturists, foresters, contractors, forestry specialists, consultants, students, government policy makers and natural resource managers who are keen to learn and engage with leading experts in the field of silviculture innovation and development 

• Objectives of the event: The symposium aims to gather industry stakeholders to learn about the latest silviculture technologies and trends from nurseries to field. The symposium will focus on technologies shaping the landscape of our industry such as digitalisation, automation, robotics, big data and efficiency improvements of manually orientated operations in the field of silviculture. 

Focus on Forestry Conference

• Event name: Focus on Forestry  

• Frequency of hosting: Every two years 

• Target audience: All forestry stakeholders 

• Objectives of the event: The event delves into various aspects of the forestry value chain, covering topics such as nurseries, fire management, silviculture, forest engineering, wood biomass, carbon, and other areas relevant to the theme. The inclusive approach ensures that participants from small growers to large-scale industrial plantations, as well as those interested in sustainably managed natural forests and related ecosystems, find valuable insights.
